What reputation does your TikTok channel have?

Creators and brands will face some additional security checks on TikTok, ensuring extra safety on the platform.

Extra security checks

TikTok is widely used as an important news source, but also for sharing and watching funny and beautiful videos. Apart from this mainly fun content, fake news, offensive content or disinformation can quickly spread. To prevent this, TikTok has now introduced additional security checks.

One strike and you’re out!

As a creator or brand, if you violate TikTok’s new guidelines for the first time, you will receive a warning. So don’t panic if it happens by accident. This warning will not count towards the number of violations of your account, but future infractions will make your account harder to find. In that case, TikTok will get in touch with you about the infraction and how to appeal if you think a mistake was made. If your content falls into the ‘incitement to violence’ category, you will not qualify for this and your account will be banned immediately. So in this case it actually is: ‘one strike, and you’re out!’

Check your reputation with the ‘Account check’

Of course, with these new rules, it’s nice to know how your content is doing. That is why TikTok is releasing the ‘account check’ tool, which allows you to see your account status at a glance and check your last 30 posts.

It’s good to see TikTok’s commitment to a safe environment and how they are making sure creators and brands can better understand the new rules through the ‘account check’ tool, for example. This way, we can all contribute to a safe and, above all, entertaining platform!

The new update will be in effect from next month.
