The social AI tool that really helps us

4 October 2023 - Esther Basting

There is hardly a week that goes by without major social platforms releasing new AI tools of their own. Not surprisingly, the still-popular YouTube is releasing a whole pile of its own tools this week and one of them has positively surprised us.

Another platform with its own AI

We know the story by now. It’s getting even easier for creators to make content. Soon, YouTube will launch its own version of TikTok’s CapCut, a tool that makes it even easier to put together YouTube Shorts. Selecting the right royal-free music will get much quicker. But the most popular announcement was the new Dream Screen: this feature allows content creators to put themselves in any situation with the AI-generated video and photo backgrounds. Interesting new features, but we found the new AI translation tool an even more interesting newcomer.

Are you ready for even more viewers?

This new AI-powered translation tool will be available in the YouTube Studio and will automatically dub your text into the language you want. You make one video, speak one language and translate it in whatever language you want with just the click of a button. Ideal for international clients and a real breakthrough for creators, who can reach a whole new target group with this. We will have to wait and see about the quality of the spoken translation. But, given that YouTube has been optimizing automatic subtitling of videos for years, this is another logical next step.

We at Dorst & Lesser are certainly looking forward to this way of distributing content even more easily. Unfortunately, we still have to be patient. An exact date is yet unknown, but the features will roll out in the YouTube Studio over the course of next year. Which new tool appeals to you the most?
