If TikTok adds a new update to their app, you can bet money on it that Instagram will come up with the same feature a while later. Recently, one copied the other and there seems to be a real copy battle going on. The platforms are starting to look more and more alike and now the next step in the copying phase seems to be there: TikTok Photos.

News came out this week that TikTok is working on a new photo-sharing app, namely TikTok Photos. The app has not yet been launched, but clues have been found in TikTok’s back-end code online showing that they are working on this separate app. It is expected that TikTok will display this new update on their current app, showing users that a new app is available for download. Is this the next step to get the Instagram audience to TikTok?

What is striking is that TikTok wants to release this new update as a separate app and not as a new feature within the current app. Could that mean they want to split photos and videos again after all? In our opinion, this development is a very good indication.
