Instagram copies MySpace

Instagram is currently testing a new interactive sticker for its stories and it is not entirely original.

By doing so, the platform is steering even more towards active sharing of interests, such as favorite accounts, music or restaurants. For the social fossils among us, however, this may evoke some flashbacks. Does the MySpace top 8 ring a bell?

The sticker allows you to select accounts, audio, tags and places. Creators have been making lists of their top 3 (sponsored or not) for some time now and this new feature only makes this easier. It allows your favorite influencer to make a top 3 of fun places in the city or for example, skincare brands.

This old classic invented the Top 8 in the 00s, where people could give their eight favorite friends on the platform a special stage.
